In
the Canadian Rockies, west of Mount Robson and nestled in the Rocky
Mountain Trench, lies the meeting of three mountain ranges: the Monashees,
the Cariboos and the Rockies, an area known for its light dry powder
snow. Here you will experience approximately 1,500 square kilometers
available of the finest heliskiing for the time of your life!
You can ski a variety of terrain ranging from glaciers and open snowfields
to treed runs. The choice of terrain will be determined by snow and
weather conditions as well as by the group's ability. Typical snow
conditions can range from deep powder and hard pack to sun crust.
You don't have to be an extreme skier to have the time of your life.
First-time heli-skiers are welcome and runs will be selected best
suited to the ability of your group. If you can ski black runs at
a ski hill, you can heli-ski.
Whether you are a seasoned heli-skier or considering the experience
for the first time, we strive to offer you an enjoyable and safe holiday
in the spectacular Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. All skiers
must be at least 19 years of age and sign a waiver for release of
liability.
Although we are always in search of the finest powder to ski, we have
to take the snow as it comes. The magic of the mountains is not just
snow but wind, sun, freezings and thaws, storms and even rain. The
interplay of all these forces means an ever changing and renewing
snowpack and changing conditions to match.
The
weather that brings our snow can also bring us low visibility days
where we have to ski through the trees. While adding an extra element
of excitement, tree skiing also requires that we use the buddy system.
You can expect to ski a variety of snow conditions ranging from deep
powder to settled hard-packed, from snow-crusted by the kiss of the
sun to that excellent spring snow that turns to "corn".
