Heli-skiing is at its best in the Interior Mountains of British Columbia. The two major mountain ranges, the Monashees and the Selkirks are noted for reliable powder Snow conditions and great terrain. There are over 200 major runs with countless variations.

Due to the excellent snow conditions from top to bottom, most of the skiing takes place below 3,000 metres(9.850 feet) where altitude is not a problem. In marginal and bad weather, the helicopters are prevented access to the open alpine terrain above tree line due to poor visibility, and so we will be skiing in the trees. Also, it is safer to ski tree runs during storm cycles due to the increased hazard. Some of the greatest skiing takes place in the forest. The snow is generally superb all the way to the valley floor and normally not affected by the wind.

If you are a strong intermediate skier in a regular ski area, you should be able to adapt to deep powder snow skiing. To fully enjoy heli-skiing, you should be in very good physical shape.

If you bring your own powder skis, ski brakes are mandatory and ski straps are not allowed for safety reasons. The FAT BOYS have a wider surface and shorter length making it easier for first timers as well as seasoned powder enthusiasts. Rentals of proven ski brands in various lengths and widths will enable you the best ski for your ability. Ski boots are not available for rent.

Accommodations during your heli-ski adventure are in a new deluxe hotel located on a crest of a hill approximately 5 km from downtown Revelstoke. The hotel offers a wonderful view of the Monashee Mountains and the Columbia Valley to the south and west, and the Selkirk Mountains to the east and features a dining room, lounge, lobby lounge, (both lounges with natural rock & wood burning fireplaces), banquet room and boutique. The spa has a sauna, steam room, relax area, whirlpool, massage room and exercise room. There is an outdoor whirlpool located on the main floor deck. The operations offices and ski shop are located in the hotel. This includes the ski shop, boot drying room, ski/snowboard storage, ski rental and souvenir shop.
